Last week we read the story, "Harry the Dirty Dog" by Gene Zion. We discussed the beginning, middle and ending of the story. Using this book as a starting point the children have been writing their own fictional stories about a dog or a cat. They have been thinking about introducing the character at the beginning of the story, creating a problem in the middle and finding a solution for the ending.
